Veterans Day

I know I am a bit late, but I wanted to talk a bit about Veterans Day. Since all three of my brothers are in the military, Veterans Day means a lot to me. So I was really impressed when on Wednesday morning there were a bunch of little flags in the middle of the quad on campus. Later that day I had to walk through the Quad again and the sight I saw took my breath away. Right in the middle of the Quad where the two sidewalks intersect there was an American flag, and next to it was the POW MIA flag. There was also a color guard (for lack of a better word) with guns walking around the flags. It almost brought tears to my eyes. This was a full day before Veterans day! I didn't read the sign they had up, because I was in a hurry passing both to and from class, and I didn't make it on campus for the actual holiday because I had to work. Though I did hear cannons going off. I was just very impressed, because I don't remember anything like that happening while attending Snow College. (well besides the cannons)

So again I know its late, but I want to take this time to thank our service men and women. I have many friends and family who are in the military or have been in the military. You all mean the world to me. My brothers, Uncle Gaylan, Amanda B, David, Stephen, Shakes, Blanket, Braden... everyone else I didn't mention. Thank you for all you do! But I don't only want to thank them. I want to thank their families for supporting them with what they are doing, and for the sacrifices that the families make. Most people don't realize how hard it is as a family member to watch your soldiers go off on a deployment. So a special thank you goes out to my parents, my sister-in-laws and everyone else with a family member in the military. It takes a special person to fight for our country, but it takes an amazing person to support the person fighting.

This is just a video I quickly put together. Its just a simple slide show with pictures of my brothers, then at the end are pics of some of the other people I mentioned. The song is "Time for War" by Kalai. Thanks to Emily for supplying me with the music! I may have stolen some of the pictures on this from face book, but I figure that if you put it on there than it is free game.
