I'll look to like...

The past few days I have been thinking a lot about my favorite quote from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. It is pretty much how I am looking at life right now. The line is "I'll look to like, if looking liking move: But no more deep will I endart mine eye Than your consent gives strength to make it fly." I know that you are probably thinking 'What does that even mean?'

Well if you have ever seen or read the play of Romeo and Juliet, then you know that in the beginning  Romeo was in love with a woman names Rosaline, and Juliet is being encouraged to go after a handsome man named Paris. It is just as Lady Capulet is telling Juliet that we should seek out Paris at the very party where Juliet meets Romeo when Juliet says this.

"I'll look to like, if looking liking move: But no more deep will I endart mine eye Than your consent gives strength to make it fly."
It means that she will go after a guy if thats what she is feeling, but she isn't going to try to like Paris just because her mother told her she should.

This is exactly how I am feeling right now. Since I broke up with Eric, I have been going on dates with a few different guys. I like each of them for different reasons, but I am still just I dont know, confused. My mom has even been telling me that I should join a seminary class and hit on guys there and in my other classes. Well I feel exactly the way Juilet did. I am going to just ride this out. If I meet a guy I like thats great, but just because I am being told to look, and I have guys that like me taking me on dates all the time doesn't mean that I am going to get super serious with anybody.
